Open day 2024

Jurgen Persijn, tutor Expert class Book design

Are you professionally active, but do you want to continue to develop within the graphic field? Or do you want to master a new skill?

The Plantin Institute of Typography offers a practical course where you learn how to design type under the roof of Museum Plantin-Moretus in Antwerp. This Expert class Type design comprises nine daylong, online sessions, supplemented with a four-day kick-off event in Antwerp (21–24 October 2024). This practical course is one of a kind and attracts an international audience of type designers.

And then there are our short modules. In February and March 2024, the renowned specialist Dr. John A. Lane will be giving his classes on the History of printing types for the last time. This class are hybrid, meaning you can attend it either online or on-site at our classroom in Antwerp.

For Dutch-speaking students and professionals we organise a two-year postgraduate course with lectures on Saturdays. The topics range from publishing to book science and from font technology to editorial design. All lectures can also be taken separately as a short module. More about this on our Dutch website.
